Dàkkádá was conceived by the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Gabriel Emmanuel and was launched on September 23rd 2015 at the occasion of Akwa Ibom State’s 28th anniversary.
Udom Gabriel Emmanuel grew from a humble family background where the virtues of humility, honesty and hard work shaped his morals and propelled him to become the fourth democratically elected Governor of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria on May 29th 2015.
Udom Emmanuel is an Alumnus of the University of Lagos, Nigeria, London Business School, INSEAD, France, Columbia Business School, and the Wharton Business School, both in USA. He is an internationally certified corporate strategist with over 23 years cognate experience in financial services from reputable national and international pecuniary stables.
Udom Emmanuel’s corporate performance has produced a progressive carrier path with astounding achievements. He was Audit Manager at Price Waterhouse Coopers, London and the pioneer Manager of the Lagos and Central Branch of Diamond Bank Plc. He joined Zenith Bank Plc. His accounting and investment proficiency saw him serve as a Non-Executive Director of Zenith Bank in several African countries and the United Kingdom. He rose to become Executive Director and Group Head of Income Optimization, Financial Control & Strategic Planning Department at Zenith Bank. He has also been Director, Nigerian Inter-bank Settlement Systems (NIBBS) as well as Non-Executive Director, Africa Finance Corporation (AFC).
Udom Emmanuel is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, a fellow of the Institute of Financial Management, as well as an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria.
Udom Emmanuel took up an appointment as Secretary to the Government of Akwa Ibom State in 2013. He later resigned to run for the office of Governor of the State in the 2015 polls. Udom Emmanuel has been a devoted father to the entire state as he has – in the midst of an unfriendly economic climate – progressively masterminded sustainable socio-economic and infrastructural development.
